You are now starring into the eyes of the largest Caterpillar on Earth. Also in Italy, Texas - I discovered a small town of concrete dome house structures.
Straight up freaky.
Roughly an hour and 20 minutes away from the hotel. Eric is driving the last leg of the trip, so I’m getting to catch up on emails and texts I missed throughout the day. It’s kinda nutty to think about all the technology in the cabin of our car.
I really want to get to Memphis already… I’ve been in this car for to long already. More later….

Who knew that Italy, Texas would have so much to offer? This roadside attraction is known as the Starship Pegasus. It served (at one time) as a game room (undoubtably a pedophile lair) of some kind. It’s in the shape of a Star Trek Enterprise…
Shout out to the Waco artist who has colorfully depicted Cortez over the Aztecs….
Extermination of my people aside, they make a mean plate of bean and cheese nachos?
The road trip made its first stop this afternoon in observance of my rumbly tummy.
We stopped into “El Conquistador” on the strength of a billboard I saw on I 35.
I’m always game for discovering new depths of bad Mexican food. “Conquer the Craving”!
Meet “Helga”. The SUV that will facilitate our road trip to Memphis. It’s a nine-passenger-seat-earth killer that is typically reserved for presidential motorcades. It’s kinda scary to drive in that it either has soft brakes or this vehicle isn’t really intended to be stopped once it reaches speeds of 75 or higher. Currently waiting for Eric to come down so we can start this excursion. #memphismemos

One of my favorite things to do on Fridays is stopping by a record store I discovered in New Braunfels by the name of StingRay Records.
I can’t stress how good the music selection is at this place. I’ve picked up a number of new & old releases for my personal collection.
A shortlist of things I was surprised to see in the shelves: Cayucas, STRFKR, Yuck, and Chvrches
In addition to these indie releases - the place is filled with a number of albums by more mainstream acts - both new and old.

Taco nite w/Chivo before splitting town…
