The absolute last place I checked out in Memphis, SUN Studios. I didn’t stick around very long because of the lengthy car ride ahead of me, but it was a great visit nonetheless. Inside, there’s a small gift shop, cafe and arranged tours that begin every :30 after the hour. A photo of Bono (circa Joshua Tree?) on a visit there is one of the many interesting things you’ll find. #memphismemos

Just before leaving Memphis this morning, I stopped by the National Civil Rights Museum and reflected in front of room 306 at the Lorraine Motel for about 10 minutes. Mulberry St. was relatively empty, with the exception of a few people overseeing some renovations, so it was nice to take in the visit alone and be uninterrupted in thought. Look forward to telling my dad about this tonight… #memphismemos #MLK

File under "Random Roadside Weirdness"

You are now starring into the eyes of the largest Caterpillar on Earth. Also in Italy, Texas - I discovered a small town of concrete dome house structures.

Straight up freaky.

I’m always game for discovering new depths of bad Mexican food. “Conquer the Craving”!
