The absolute last place I checked out in Memphis, SUN Studios. I didn’t stick around very long because of the lengthy car ride ahead of me, but it was a great visit nonetheless. Inside, there’s a small gift shop, cafe and arranged tours that begin every :30 after the hour. A photo of Bono (circa Joshua Tree?) on a visit there is one of the many interesting things you’ll find. #memphismemos

Just before leaving Memphis this morning, I stopped by the National Civil Rights Museum and reflected in front of room 306 at the Lorraine Motel for about 10 minutes. Mulberry St. was relatively empty, with the exception of a few people overseeing some renovations, so it was nice to take in the visit alone and be uninterrupted in thought. Look forward to telling my dad about this tonight… #memphismemos #MLK

You are now starring into the eyes of the largest Caterpillar on Earth. Also in Italy, Texas - I discovered a small town of concrete dome house structures.

Straight up freaky.

I’m always game for discovering new depths of bad Mexican food. “Conquer the Craving”!

Cleaver restaurant names always get me to stop in for a visit

The Devils Den
File under: Another “ruin” found just off the San Antonio greenbelt.

This spot has a backdrop that includes a double murder that occurred in the area and tales of Satanic activity.

A lot like the “hot wells”,
A few months ago, someone I’ve befriended on Instagram was contributing an art piece to a collective known as LOVE ETHIC.

An ongoing art fundraiser with origins dating back to the 60s, where a movement was rooted in sending artwork through the

I don’t really drink all that much anymore, but wanted to take some FM Roads to something/somewhere and arrived here of all places. Roughly 75 miles from my doorstep, all the Shiner Bock beer one consumes, leaves
Hello,

Over the summer, wrote an essay in response to something I saw here in San Antonio. I’ve been hesitant to write and publish things for nearly a decade but something has changed in 2025. I’m exploring more opportunities to artist
Lost myself once in a soundscape.
Transported to a time and place; that was better than here.

I’ve chased it every waking moment since.
It looked just like this.
Last week, I got to share a story about a very specific evening nearly 30 years ago that took place on South Padre Island. Definitely want to thank @texaspublicradio and @tori_bori_allegory for allowing me to be a part of Worth Repeating as a story
A small Mariachi concert was held tonight featuring Juan Ortiz @juanbortiz6 of the World Famous @campanasdeamerica over at @casapinktx.

The showcase featured Juan’s students from the Palo Alto College Mariachi Program.
