While out running some quick errands this morning I picked up a copy of John Green’s latest effort “The Fault In Our Stars"…

Did so largely in part to have something to read while I plow thru a lot of laundry at the apartment…  but I also wanted to get under the skin of my friend Jaime who recently tweeted that his copy had been lost in transit to his house.

I got word this afternoon that his copy arrived safely but he won’t get around to reading it till this evening.

I’m a few chapters in and I must say that I’m enjoying it verily.  I’m not at all familiar with the author but he’s apparently well regarded.  This may move me enough to check out some of his earlier work.

Lost myself once in a soundscape.
Transported to a time and place; that was better than here.

I’ve chased it every waking moment since.
It looked just like this.
Last week, I got to share a story about a very specific evening nearly 30 years ago that took place on South Padre Island. Definitely want to thank @texaspublicradio and @tori_bori_allegory for allowing me to be a part of Worth Repeating as a story
A small Mariachi concert was held tonight featuring Juan Ortiz @juanbortiz6 of the World Famous @campanasdeamerica over at @casapinktx.

The showcase featured Juan’s students from the Palo Alto College Mariachi Program.

This is “Turbo”, he’s a tortoise 🐢 and incredibly friendly. I’ve never been that close to a tortoise before, so we kinda looked blankly 😐 at one another for a long while. A sign by its enclosure said he could be fed lettuc

The Great Egret, an absolute triumph of natural design.

I studied and shared an afternoon with this Dino descendent for about half an hour. I couldn’t get over the blinding whiteness of its feathers and how Mother Nature blessed it with such
