When I looked over at Elliot, sitting in the passenger seat of my car on a pillow, seemingly exhausted from the hustle and bustle of driving across Texas in the last 7 days - I looked back and simply told him “we’re heading home little man”.
The mini tour is officially over. My mom is feeling better for the time being… a small surgery is needed and that will get scheduled a week from today - but the driving and my little tour is over for the time being.
All in all, the past 7 days have been great. Life is incredibly to short to not do things like drop out of work to check on your parents - connivence them to leave their home at a drop of a hat to see your sibling who couldn’t make it down to the valley - stay up incredibly late, playing dominoes for loose change - staying up late again getting my mom hooked on the WIRE, only to get up a few hours later to drive back to their house.
