Sub Pop - Loser

Made it a point to arrive early  at the Seattle airport today...  Sub Pop Records has a small shop that sells a number of wears and records for people traveling through the Emerald City.

They hit it out of the park in respect to layout and signage.

I set my expectations low before my arrival... I assumed they would operate out of a small shop that maybe carried a number of their biggest releases.  Much to my surprise the shop had a decent sized foot print and they respectable selection of music in various formats and enough keepsakes to make a dent in my wallet.

I seriously considered picking up a copy of the Sleater-Kinney box set today, but it was equal parts heavy and kinda close to my birthday/holidays...  I figured I should keep a couple things on the "wish list" if pressed for suggestions.

Sunny Day Real Estate - How It Feels To Be Something On

One of my fondest college memories was the release of Sunny Day Real Estate's album - How It Feels to Be Something On.   SDRE had split up while I was in high-school and I didn't know who they were until my Freshman year of college.

I was in the middle of discovering a number of Emo bands at the time, so it was really exciting to hear that one of the seminal emo bands was going to release a new album.

How it Feels To Be Something On - however doesn't sound anything like an Emo album tho'.  It sorta borders on being a "prog" album.  A genre of music I don't really get too worked up about, but this album is incredible.

SDRE is reportedly releasing a 7" record this weekend for Record Store Day.  I guess I kinda have them on the brain.
