One of the perks of working, where I work - is getting to outline the tools and equipment I need for my daily duties.

After having repeated issues with an issued HP Probook, I asked for an Ultrabook that would allow me to lighten the load I carry around every day.  I wasn’t sure if they were going to go for it or not… but after requesting a Dell XPS 13, I had it delivered within a week.

Changing laptops in mid-work week can be nightmarish, but I managed to move over without many headaches.

The laptop is supposed to resemble the Macbook Air in many ways, but it falls short on a number of fronts.

1.) the computer is a little thicker than expected…  it’s got a solid form factor tho’.

2.) the trackpad is D.O.A. -  I recently downloaded some driver updates but for some reason, I can’t seem to get them to work - so little things like 2 finger scrolling just won’t work.

3.) Windows 7, while better than both Vista and XP - blows.

and they quickly delivered me the DELL XPS 13.

There’s a number of roads I can take to the RGV, but it’s ones like this one that allow me to reflect upon drives with my dad.

When I look back on my formative pop-culture consumption years, I have a very soft spot for seeing shows on syndication. One show that was locally on syndication in the mid 80s was show called “Cheers”. A sitcom that wasn’t like an
