2012 Top 10 Albums of the Year: #3) Diiv - “Oshin”
Been struggling for some time to come up with something to describe Diiv’s(pronounced Dive) album “Oshin”.
The musical stylings (influences) are very evident if you give the record a spin… As dream pop records go, “Oshin” is an incredible record to slip on when its cold outside. It’s a very concentrated/rooted effort with unintelligible crooning that puts me in a familiar and tranquil place.
Perhaps it’s ranking is a little high for a Best Album of the Year listing, but in my opinion it’s a high water mark in a rather forgettable year for acts whom use a guitar for a catalyst.
