ViewfinderStopped into a local eye doctor to renew my vision prescription and to blow through some Flexible Spending Account money before the Jan 1st.I'm kinda surprised that this machine really hasn't been updated in the 20 or so years that I've been taking eye exams.
Optos (Daytona)Meet the Optos...A $90,000 machine that is going to get packed up and sent back to its owner in early January. The makers of this machine lent it to the doctor I was visiting today and it does the eye dilation test on you without having to endure the eye drops and crazy light scans that leave you unable to drive home afterwards. The test only set me back 30 dollars and I signed up to take it after hearing I could drive home. Not quite sure why it has a little Daytona tramp stamp on the pelvic area of the stand.
Text Book EyesYou my friends are looking at text book eyes. My doctor spent 10 minutes or so dropping optometrist terms like "optical cortex" and "nuerosomethingorother" while I gazed on like a chimp staring at an algebra problem. He looked at the veins in my eyes and confirmed I didn't have diabetes.... He also confirmed I didn't have high blood pressure or high cholesterol.I'm going to make a proper visit with a regular doctor in the coming weeks to hear about how I'm on the verge of catching all things bad for being a fat ass.
