the Flaming LipsCaught the Flaming Lips over the weekend in San Antonio... the band headlined a two day festival called "Maverick Fest".I didn't go out of my way to secure tickets for the festival, I made it a point to visit Southtown Vinyl earlier in the day and was offered a pair of free tickets by the store owner/clerk.An incredibly gracious gift and gesture.
Major TomOne of the highlights of the night was seeing the Flaming Lips do a cover of David Bowie's "Space Oddity". Wayne (picture here) climbed into a bubble and then surfed onto a platform about 4 people away from where I was standing. I was lucky enough to capture this picture of him smiling back at me.It was a very moving moment, as I had to hold back some tears during the cover.
