Happy 65th birth day Mr. Fahrenheit
Took this photo while waiting for a cupcake order to get filled out by the staff at Gigi’s. I’ve been highly critical of cupcake boutiques around the city of San Antonio and I know that it’s hypocritical of me to enjoy the shit out of these things. I don’t care tho’. They’re fucking good.
Tour Diary, Day 4 & 5 : Alamo City Leg

The apartment is eerily quiet right now… the only sounds that can currently be heard are coming from the dishwasher and my dryer.
My parents are currently out with my sister - having a “make up” day of sorts after having a blow out on Friday/Saturday… Reasons for the (their) bickering is pretty silly but I’m of the opinion that the root cause of it all is my bi-polar sister.
A comment that would likely land me in some hot water with both her and my parents but luckily for me none of them read this blog.
As for the weekend… I did my best to host my parents who sorta wished they had never left the valley. Made the most of it tho’ by taking my mom to the Farmers Market on Saturday and then proceeded to eat a variety of goodies around town.
One of the highlights was getting cupcakes at Gigi’s on the northside of town and then sharing a few dishes over at Nosh for a late lunch.
My parents are due over at the house any moment now… need to finish cleaning up the apartment before their arrival.
Took my parents over to Texas Pride last night on our drive back to my apartment. The establishment is one of the most picturesque places in the San Antonio-Metro area. The BBQ however receives a little too much praise in my opinion.
Tour Diary, Day Three : Taking the Circus on the road...
When my mom walked out of the Harlingen Medical Center, appearing to not to be in any discomfort from having just taken some ultrasounds - I asked her what she wanted to do and she told me that she’d like to go to San Antonio to see her daughter for a few days.
We talked to my dad about it and we packed the car & pets in what seemed like a blur…
Now we’re back in San Antonio for a few days before I take them both back at the end of the weekend.

taken on a drive between San Benito and San Antonio Texas…
Tour Diary, Day 2 : Let them eat cake!
Thursday has been a lot like day one… I’ve avoided the sun at all costs and Amos (Amon! if my dad yells out for him) is becoming a little more comfortable around the house.
My mom is in really good spirits… I’m not sure if this is because of the prescribed drugs - Vicodin and Zolfran - but I think she’s happy to have both me and Elliot around the house.
Biggest win of the day from my mom making chocolate cake.

Tour Diary : Day 1
When I got word that my mom would be getting her ultra sound check bumped up - I decided to take some time off of work this week and drove down to the valley (with both Amos and Elliot in hand) so that I could help out with the driving and doctor consultations.
The first day has been pretty relaxing. My mom seems to be managing pretty well… one thing I noticed was that her recent foot therapy has really helped with her ankle, so she seems to get around better than I’ve seen in recent memory.
The biggest highlight of the short visit has been listening to my dad mispronounce Amos name as “Amon!”
Despite correcting him 10 or so times - he continues to call him “Amon!”

Morrissey on Tour : San Antonio on list →

Saw that San Antonio was on the short list of tour dates… my guess is that Girl in a Coma will likely open.
November will spawn a monster!
The weekend that was & wasn't...

The weekend of August 27th was supposed to go a lot differently… I was supposed to board a flight - bound for the city of Chicago - so that I could catch my all time favorite band ( Braid ) perform at the Metro.
I made arrangements with a friend in Chicago to score tickets earlier this year but things fell thru as we got closer to the scheduled performance…
Which wasn’t exactly a bad thing because the day I would have flown up to Chicago, I received word that my mom was rushed over to a hospital because of sharp stomach pains.
She left the emergency room late that evening (August 26th) and since then we’ve been in close contact so that we can make arrangements to see each other.
I spent the weekend of August 27th in San Antonio and it turned out to be one of the best weekends I’ve had at home in a very long time….
